About Us

Hi, I'm Richard, and this is my wife, Hikari. We’re the founders of OkinawaNorth.com. After relocating to Okinawa from England in 2016, I quickly fell in love with the island. It was here, in Northern Okinawa, where Hikari and I crossed paths and began our journey together.

As we explored the island, we realized that many travelers miss out on the true magic of Northern Okinawa due to language barriers and a lack of local knowledge. We wanted to help share the region's beauty and adventure in a more personal, immersive way. That’s when we decided to create OkinawaNorth.com.

Our goal is to bridge the gap for English-speaking travelers by offering personalized recommendations, and a friendly welcome.
